Fighting Chemo's hidden enemy: new hope to stop cancer Patients' weight loss
NCT ID NCT06998758
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called megestrol acetate can help people with locally advanced colon or rectal cancer avoid losing weight during chemotherapy given before surgery. The trial will involve 60 patients, with half receiving the drug alongside their standard chemo and half receiving chemo alone. Researchers want to see if the drug improves appetite, helps maintain weight, and makes it easier for patients to tolerate their cancer treatment.
