New balloon treatment aims to save limbs from amputation

NCT ID NCT05620095

Summary

This study is observing how well a special drug-coated balloon works to open blocked arteries below the knee in patients with severe leg pain or wounds that won't heal. It will follow 1,000 patients for a year to see if the procedure improves blood flow, helps wounds heal, and prevents the need for future surgeries or amputations. The goal is to better control the disease and improve patients' quality of life.
