Drones race to save lives: testing flying defibrillators for rural heart attacks
NCT ID NCT06229418
Summary
This study aims to design and test a system where drones deliver Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to people experiencing cardiac arrest in rural communities. Researchers want to see if drones can reach patients faster than traditional emergency services like ambulances or firefighters. The goal is to determine if this faster delivery could justify a future trial testing whether it actually improves survival rates from cardiac arrest.
