Enzyme test may predict chemo success in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT04198727

First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study checks if a person's natural DPD enzyme activity influences how well the chemotherapy drug capecitabine works for metastatic breast cancer. About 155 women with HER2-negative breast cancer will have their DPD levels measured before starting treatment. Researchers will then track tumor response and side effects for up to 24 months to see if DPD activity predicts outcomes.
