Pill after sex could slash STIs in High-Risk groups

Summary

This study tests whether taking the antibiotic doxycycline shortly after sex (called doxy-PEP) can prevent bacterial STIs like syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. It involves 200 sexual and gender minorities in Rio de Janeiro who are living with HIV or taking PrEP. Participants choose whether to use doxy-PEP and are followed for 48 weeks to see if it reduces new infections and is safe.
