Summary
This study aims to understand how the immune system works and ages in people with Down syndrome over 15 years. It will follow 700 participants, including those who had their thymus gland removed during heart surgery as infants and those who did not. By collecting health data and samples yearly, researchers hope to learn why people with Down syndrome are more prone to infections, autoimmune diseases, and other health issues.
