Scientists probe why people with down syndrome have different stress reactions
NCT ID NCT07238465
Summary
This study aims to understand how the body's automatic nervous system responds to stress in adults with Down syndrome. Researchers will measure heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones in 200 participants (half with Down syndrome, half without) during six common stressors like cold, exercise, and fasting. The goal is to gather detailed information that could later help develop better ways to support heart health and physical activity in this population.
