Donor milk Match-Up: tiny tummies may benefit from secretor status strategy
NCT ID NCT04130165
First seen May 14, 2026 ยท Last updated May 14, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether giving very preterm babies donor milk that matches their own mother's secretor type (a genetic trait affecting milk sugars) could improve their gut bacteria. Researchers planned to compare matched milk to standard unmatched donor milk in 13 infants born before 34 weeks. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
