First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether walking with a therapy dog helps adult trauma patients move more during their hospital stay. Sixty-four patients each took two walks—one with a dog and one without—and reported their pain, anxiety, and motivation. The goal was to see if dog-assisted walks can safely improve mobility and make recovery less stressful.
