New hope for DMD boys: gentler steroid schedule paired with home workouts
NCT ID NCT04322357
Summary
This study tested if a gentler steroid schedule—taking prednisone just twice a week instead of daily—could slow muscle decline in boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) while causing fewer side effects. It also explored whether a safe, moderate leg exercise program done at home could provide additional benefits. The goal was to find a better way to manage the disease and improve strength and physical function.
