First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study examined 26 children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), ages 6 to 12, who could still walk. Researchers used ultrasound to measure calf muscle thickness and length, then compared these measurements to the children's ability to walk, move, and flex their ankles. The goal was to better understand how muscle changes relate to physical function in DMD, without providing any treatment.
