Could a new steroid schedule and simple home exercises slow muscle loss in DMD?

NCT ID NCT04322357

Summary

This study looked at whether a different way of taking a common steroid medicine (prednisone just twice a week instead of daily) could help boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) maintain muscle strength while causing fewer side effects like weight gain. It also tested if a 6-month program of moderate leg exercises done at home could further improve muscle function. The goal was to find a better treatment combination to help control the disease and improve quality of life.
