Trial tests disposable 'Scope to ease doctor strain in delicate gut surgeries
NCT ID NCT06738628
Summary
This study is testing a new, lighter, single-use endoscope during specialized procedures for conditions like achalasia and gastroparesis. The main goal is to see if this disposable tool works as well as the standard reusable ones, while also being easier for doctors to handle and potentially reducing their muscle strain. About 40 patients undergoing these specific procedures will have their surgery done with the new device so researchers can measure its success, safety, and how satisfied doctors are with it.
