Stroke patients may skip scans to get life-saving treatment faster
NCT ID NCT07460713
First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether sending people with a suspected major stroke directly to the angiography suite (a special X-ray room) for treatment is better than the usual approach of doing a CT or MRI scan first. About 568 adults with severe stroke symptoms within 6 hours of onset will be randomly assigned to one of two paths. The goal is to see if the faster route leads to more people recovering with little or no disability at 90 days.
