Generic vein health pill put to the test against Brand-Name version
NCT ID NCT07674446
First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study checks whether a generic diosmin tablet (Dimotec) releases the same amount of active ingredient into the blood as the brand-name Detralex after a meal. Healthy adults aged 18 to 55 take a single dose of each tablet in random order, and blood samples are compared. The goal is to see if the two versions are bioequivalent, meaning they work the same in the body.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Diosmin (a flavonoid used for vein health)
What this could lead to
If the two tablets are shown to be equivalent, it could offer a more affordable option for people needing diosmin therapy.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase study in healthy volunteers, not patients. Results may not predict real-world effectiveness or safety in people with vein disease.
