Digital Mind-Gut therapies battle Kids' chronic tummy troubles
NCT ID NCT07319078
Summary
This study is testing two online psychological treatments to help children and teenagers manage chronic stomach pain caused by gut-brain communication problems. Researchers are comparing internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) with gut-directed hypnotherapy delivered through audio recordings to see which works better. About 200 participants aged 8-17 will first complete a 4-week online 'gut school' education program, then be randomly assigned to one of the two digital treatments for 10-12 weeks.
