First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a 14-day digital writing program designed to help parents of autistic individuals manage stress and improve mental health. Participants use a WeChat mini-program to write about their feelings and practice self-kindness for about 5 minutes each day. The trial includes 240 parents and compares the writing group to a control group to see if the program is feasible, acceptable, and helpful.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a low-cost, accessible way to improve mental health for parents of autistic individuals.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial focused on feasibility, not proof of effectiveness. The intervention is brief and digital, so results may not apply to all parents or lead to lasting change.
