Digital therapy aims to stop PTSD before it starts in heart patients
NCT ID NCT06037785
Summary
This study is testing a one-month online self-management program designed to help people who have recently received a shock from their implanted heart defibrillator (ICD). The program teaches heart rate monitoring and coping skills through web-based modules, with the goal of reducing anxiety, preventing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and improving quality of life. Researchers will compare the program plus usual care to usual care alone in 60 participants to see if it's feasible and helpful.
