Fasting-Mimicking diet may boost colon cancer surgery outcomes

NCT ID NCT05384444

First seen May 10, 2026 ยท Last updated May 10, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special low-calorie diet (fasting-mimicking diet) before and after surgery can help colorectal cancer patients recover faster and reduce the chance of cancer coming back. About 600 adults with stage III colorectal cancer will be followed for years. The diet aims to protect healthy cells while making cancer cells more vulnerable, but it is not a cure and ongoing monitoring is needed.
