Could this trial end the ban on bananas for kidney patients?
NCT ID NCT05090865
Summary
This study is testing whether people with chronic kidney disease can safely eat more potassium-rich fruits and vegetables. Researchers will provide 30 participants with home-delivered produce that is either high or low in potassium for six weeks each, then switch. The goal is to see if this changes blood potassium levels and affects quality of life, which could lead to less restrictive dietary advice.
