First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether eating a high-fiber, low-fat diet for three weeks before colorectal cancer surgery can change gut bacteria to help prevent the cancer from returning or spreading. About 80 adults with colorectal cancer will follow this diet and provide blood, stool, and tumor samples. Researchers will track their health for up to five years after surgery.
