NCT ID NCT02412553

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two special diets—a liquid formula diet or the specific carbohydrate diet—can help people with active Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis feel better. About 40 adults will choose one diet and follow it for 6 weeks, then return to normal eating. Researchers will check symptoms, inflammation levels, and gut bacteria changes during and after the diet.
