First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a Mediterranean-style diet (adapted for Nordic countries) can improve gut health and reduce inflammation in people with moderate Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Researchers will also explore how exercise, sexual health, and quality of life relate to disease activity. 160 adults and teens with active IBD will follow the diet for four weeks, with stool samples and questionnaires used to track changes.
