Can a Low-Carb, fasting diet starve brain tumors?

NCT ID NCT02286167

Summary

This study tested whether a special diet could help control glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Researchers had 25 patients who had finished initial treatment try a low-carbohydrate diet combined with short fasting periods. The goal was to see if this diet was practical to follow and if it showed signs of affecting tumor metabolism to potentially prevent the cancer from coming back.
