Dialysis patients get tailored diet advice to fight dangerous phosphate buildup

NCT ID NCT07180069

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether personalized diet education could help hemodialysis patients lower high blood phosphate levels, a common and risky condition. Two hundred adults on dialysis were split into two groups: one received standard care, the other added targeted counseling on low-phosphate foods. The goal was to see if the extra education led to greater phosphate reduction over 12 weeks.
