Fish oil diet plus pill may slow prostate cancer growth

NCT ID NCT01653925

Summary

This study is testing whether a diet rich in fish oils (omega-3s) combined with a medication called dutasteride can slow down or control the progression of low-risk prostate cancer. It involves 120 men who are already on 'active surveillance' for their cancer. Participants follow the special diet and take the medication for one year while researchers check prostate tissue samples to see if the cancer changes.
