Beyond carbs: study tests new meal math for teen diabetes
NCT ID NCT07158385
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the protein and fat in a meal, not just carbohydrates, affect blood sugar levels in teenagers with type 1 diabetes. Researchers fed 11 teens different meals and used continuous glucose monitors to track their blood sugar for 6 hours. The goal was to gather information to see if insulin dosing should account for all parts of a meal, not just carbs.
