First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at how two different diets affect the gut bacteria of healthy Black and white adults in Alabama. For 28 days, participants ate either the DASH diet (rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy) or a standard American diet. Researchers measured changes in gut bacteria and markers of inflammation to see if the DASH diet could promote a healthier gut and lower the risk of diseases like colorectal cancer.
