Ultrasound eye on diaphragm may predict ventilator weaning success
NCT ID NCT06009731
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive ultrasound method to measure diaphragm movement in patients on breathing machines. Researchers will track diaphragm strain during a spontaneous breathing trial to see if it can detect early signs of diaphragm weakness. The goal is to find a simpler way to decide when patients are ready to breathe on their own. About 60 adults on ventilators will participate.
