First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new, less invasive way to measure diaphragm function using ultrasound during a breathing trial. About 60 adults on ventilators will be monitored for 30-120 minutes. The goal is to see if this method can detect early signs of diaphragm weakness, helping doctors decide when to remove breathing support.
