Stanford tests dialysis timing before surgery
NCT ID NCT07339202
Summary
This pilot study aims to find out if it's safe and practical to schedule dialysis on the same day as surgery for people with end-stage kidney disease. Researchers will compare two approaches: having dialysis right before surgery versus not having it that day. The trial will enroll 30 patients undergoing planned surgical procedures to see which timing causes fewer complications.
