Less dialysis, better life? study tests Twice-Weekly schedule for seniors

NCT ID NCT06141798

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether older adults (60+) with kidney failure who still produce some urine can safely start dialysis just twice a week instead of the usual three times. The goal is to see if fewer sessions lower hospital stays, falls, and other complications while maintaining quality of life. About 428 participants will be followed for up to two years, and the dialysis schedule may be adjusted if needed.
