Listening to blood flow: can sounds predict dialysis access problems?
NCT ID NCT06411353
Summary
This study investigates whether sounds coming from dialysis fistulas can reveal problems with blood flow. Researchers will record sounds from 15 patients with kidney failure who need new dialysis access and compare them to detailed blood flow measurements. The goal is to understand if sound analysis could become a simple, non-invasive way to monitor fistula health and predict potential failures.
