New CT technique could spare some cardiac arrest patients from unnecessary invasive procedures

NCT ID NCT07388342

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests a new CT scan method that checks for blocked heart arteries in people who survive a cardiac arrest. The scan uses existing images and special software, so no extra medications or monitoring are needed. Researchers will compare the CT results with the standard invasive heart catheterization in 30 adults to see if the scan can accurately identify who truly needs urgent treatment. If successful, this approach could help doctors decide faster and safer which patients require immediate intervention.
