Fat cells offer new hope for diabetic nerve pain and foot sores
NCT ID NCT07553468
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This small study tested whether cells taken from a patient's own fat (called SVF cells) could safely help heal foot ulcers and restore feeling in people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Eight adults with stable diabetes and nerve damage received the treatment. The goal was to see if the cells could improve wound closure and sensation in the feet.
