New procedure aims to free diabetes patients from insulin

NCT ID NCT05984238

Summary

This study is testing whether a new, minimally invasive endoscopic procedure, which uses electrical pulses to regenerate the lining of the small intestine, can help people with type 2 diabetes who use insulin. When combined with the diabetes medication Ozempic, researchers hope this approach will improve blood sugar control enough for participants to reduce or stop their insulin injections. The trial will compare the real procedure to a sham (fake) procedure in 32 participants to see if it is safe and effective.
