Summary
This study looked back at the medical records of 22,000 Danish patients with diabetes who had major surgery. The goal was to see how often hospitals correctly followed established guidelines for managing blood sugar before, during, and after surgery. Researchers specifically checked if patients with high blood sugar received the right dose of insulin as recommended.
