Scientists monitor brain oxygen during surgery to understand diabetes risks

NCT ID NCT07491185

Summary

This study aims to understand how long-term blood sugar control in diabetic patients affects brain oxygen levels during surgery and recovery afterward. Researchers will observe 80 adults having planned urologic surgery, grouping them by their recent blood sugar history. They will use a special, non-invasive monitor on the forehead to measure brain oxygen during the operation and track recovery scores after.
