Scientists hunt for blood clues to predict diabetes cure after surgery
NCT ID NCT05472883
Summary
This study aims to discover blood markers that could help predict whether a person's type 2 diabetes will go into remission after weight loss surgery. Researchers will collect blood, muscle, and fat tissue samples from 50 obese patients with type 2 diabetes who are scheduled for surgery. By measuring specific proteins in these samples, they hope to create a better tool to forecast who will benefit most from the procedure.
