Personal guide helps patients master diabetes tech

NCT ID NCT06229236

Summary

This study tested whether having a 'Diabetes Navigator'—a support person who helps patients overcome challenges—was better than standard care at helping people with type 1 diabetes start using or improve their use of advanced technology like continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps. It involved 148 participants, including both children and adults, who were not yet using these devices optimally. The main goal was to see if this extra support led to better use of technology and, as a result, better blood sugar control over 3 to 6 months.
