Hidden diabetes in ICU: major study seeks true impact on survival
NCT ID NCT07261865
Summary
This study aims to find out how many patients in intensive care have undiagnosed diabetes or prediabetes, which current hospital records often miss. Researchers will measure a long-term blood sugar marker (HbA1c) in 4395 adult ICU patients to get a more accurate picture. The goal is to understand how these blood sugar conditions affect organ failure and patient survival during and after their ICU stay.
