Scientists search for hidden blood clues linking diabetes and gum health

NCT ID NCT07327086

Summary

This study aimed to understand if levels of certain minerals in the blood are connected to having both type 2 diabetes and serious gum disease (periodontitis). Researchers measured chromium, magnesium, and nickel in 74 adults, comparing those with diabetes and gum disease to healthy people. The goal was to gather information to help explain why these two conditions often occur together.
