Diabetes drug tested as potential gum disease fighter

NCT ID NCT07182123

Summary

This small pilot study aims to find out if a medication commonly used for type 2 diabetes (called a GLP-1RA) can improve the health of gums in people who also have periodontitis, a serious gum disease. It will involve 30 participants who have both conditions. The goal is to gather initial data to see if this approach is promising enough to justify a larger, more definitive trial in the future.
