New hope for families stressed by childhood diabetes
NCT ID NCT05268250
Summary
This study is testing a new program called R2D2 that aims to help families of children with type 1 diabetes manage the emotional stress of the disease. The program screens for 'diabetes distress' in both children and parents and provides support to reduce it, with the goal of improving the child's blood sugar control. Researchers are enrolling 180 families with children aged 8-12 to see if this practical, clinic-based approach is helpful and can be widely used.
