Algae oil study could shape future Omega-3 guidelines
NCT ID NCT06294067
First seen Nov 01, 2025
Summary
This study looked at how different doses of DHA (an omega-3 from algae oil) change EPA levels in the blood of 72 healthy vegetarians and vegans. Participants took one of six DHA doses daily for 8 weeks, and researchers tracked EPA changes using a carbon tracer. The goal is to help set recommended daily intakes for DHA and reduce overconsumption of fish-based omega-3s.
