New study tests if a smarter DHA can boost aging brains

NCT ID NCT06933095

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two types of DHA (a healthy fat) to see which one gets into the brain better. Researchers will give 153 older adults (ages 55-82) with early memory decline either a special DHA (LPC-DHA) or standard DHA for 24 weeks. They will measure DHA levels in spinal fluid and blood, along with brain health markers, to understand which form may better support memory.
