Timing is everything: can a simple drug timing tweak ease surgery stress?

Summary
This study tests whether giving a single dose of dexmedetomidine, a calming medication, at different times before surgery can lower the body's stress response when a breathing tube is placed. About 45 adults having surgery will be randomly assigned to receive the drug at different times. The goal is to see if earlier timing leads to more stable blood pressure and heart rate during intubation.
