Spine surgery eye risk: new drug may protect vision

Summary

This study looks at whether giving the drug dexmedetomidine during spine surgery can prevent dangerous rises in eye pressure when patients are lying face down. Researchers will measure eye pressure in 60 adults at several points during the operation. The goal is to find a simple way to protect eyesight during this common surgical position.
