First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests three different doses of a drug called dexmedetomidine, added to the usual numbing medicine for a nerve block in the armpit area. The goal is to see if a higher dose can keep the arm numb and pain-free longer after elbow or hand surgery. About 69 adults having upper limb surgery will take part, and researchers will measure how long it takes for movement and feeling to return.
