First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding either dexamethasone (a steroid) or terbutaline (an asthma drug) to standard paracetamol provides better pain relief for people with kidney stones in the emergency room. About 300 adults with severe pain will be randomly assigned to one of the two drug combinations or a placebo. The main goal is to see if pain drops by at least half within a few hours.
